Wired tells the trials and tribulations of iPhone's birth

Since the iPhone's US debut in June 2007, quite a few tales have been told of the device's long journey to market. Steve Jobs said himself on the Macworld '07 stage that Apple had been working on the product for four years, but many accounts claim an Apple phone was in the pipes for at least a year longer than that.
